Stating opinions and forcing one's beliefs upon someone else are two different things all together & I effectively did neither. I was, in fact, pointing out that very thing. Still, the first statement refers to opinions and could be paraphrased as "Those who do not fit into the target audience can only spout meaningless words regarding the media in question" which could logically be applied to anything; which it isn't, thankfully, because it's nonsense. I take it then that Christians can 'force' religious views onto other Christians if slight differences occur?
Which 'gay political movement'? Do you mean something general (ie. increasing gay liberalism on the whole etc. etc.) or some specific gay activist group in America or elsewhere? If you're talking about it generally then I find it unthinkable that you could accuse me of having a 'cavalier attitude' or any degree of 'hubris' just before making such a moralistically high-grounded and vague statement, especially considering that thus far & for the most part all I've been trying to do is to extract what you think (not simply to show off my views - although that's always fun) in as casual a way as possible while attempting to keep you from turning the entire thing into some kind of banal feud (which you always seem terribly eager to do, I have to say - whether that's because you've drastically misread my intentions or you're just obnoxious I've no idea). Irrelevant not in terms of change so much as moral interpretation. Again I'll attempt to express it in a different way; surely, (you will notice that I use the word 'surely' a lot - for it adopts a more free and open-to-change tone - as opposed to your default routine of making blunt, vague & often insulting remarks) even in biblical terms, it's not the becoming gay that is right or wrong but how you choose to deal with it? Understood? As for the second sentence I never said otherwise. The concept of 'gay life' is an interesting one though; I've never quite grasped it. It's one of these terms that angsty 'gothic' homosexual acquaintances tend to throw up whenever they want a bit of sympathy and attention. As far as I'm aware there's no such thing. Anyway, have a good one. My visitations here over the next couple of weeks or so will probably be few and far between (exams, you see) so appy-polly-lodges for any vast delays. Fare thee well. |
