Christian/Muslim ThreadsCHRIST IN ISLAMFirst, I have already acknowledged that Catholicism committed a lot of atrocities and I will also admit that England's empire was far from sensitive to the rights of indignant peoples. However, you still have not addressed that the Qur'an tells Muslims to kill those who refuse to convert, extort those who refuse to convert, and lie to anyone to promote the world domination of Islam. Also you are confusing secular governments controlled by professed Christians with governments that are controlled by Islamic Law. What kings and queens did to expand their territories is not the issue, the issue is what the Bible teaches vs. what the Qur'an teaches. You brought up the conquest of Canaan, but failed to mention that God did not command the Jews to take over the whole world. You mention Paul wrote that deviants from Christianity should be put to death, which is a lie. Paul never instructed anyone to be God's executioner and wrote: Romans 12:19-21 19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 20 "But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. NAS This same teaching is found in the book of Hebrews: Hebrews 10:26-31 26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge His people." 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. NAS How did Paul tell Christians to treat those who continue to sin? 1 Corinthians 5:9-13 9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; 10 I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters; for then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he should be an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler-- not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves. NAS Paul taught what Jesus taught: Matthew 5:43-48 43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' 44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you 45 in order that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax-gatherers do the same? 47 "And if you greet your brothers only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. NAS Now tell us why we should accept as truth a religion that teaches the exact opposite of what the Bible teaches Christians. When you compare the Bible and the Qur'an and true Christianity vs. Islam, Islam is the loser since it promotes committing atrocities that are prohibited in the Bible. |
