Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinesBeware of this Different Gospel of ChristAineo writes, The problem is that you stopped and did not quote the entire verse. The entire verse says, Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him. What do the phrases "and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by who are all things " mean to you? Jesus declared "I and the Father are one." (John 10:30) The Jews of Jesus day certainly knew what Jesus meant when He declared this. The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God." (John 10:33) God's revelation of who Jesus is may not make sense to some, but it certainly does for those who receive Jesus as Lord God into their lives. The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. (Romans 8:16) Blessings |
