Geshtinnanna,
You say: “I try very hard not to judge a religion based on a person.”
Please let me ask: By what do you judge a religion? I honestly want to know because it is something I am already studying and researching. Unlike most people, I do not feel that religion is a taboo subject. Also, even though at one time I had a Jordanian father-in-law he refused to discuss religion, so I have never had a serious discussion of religion with a Muslim.
You say: “But I see a very big difference between religion and faith.”
Please let me ask: Will you please explain that statement further?
You say: “And people usually get religion wrong.”
Please let me ask: Is it possible for the faith to be right if the religion is wrong? Of what use is a strong faith in a wrong religion?
Having asked the above let me say that I agree, “People usually get religion wrong.” Why do you think that is?
