Abortion Memorial ServiceUnborn babies feel pain!THink of it like this: You have a computer and a mouse. when hooked up properly, a moving mouse makes a moving cursor. When not hooked up properly, a moving mouse makes nothing but a moving mouse. The cursor does not exist inside of the mouse, it is inside of the computer. THe computer is what tells changes mouse movement into cursor movement, or in the brain, harm into pain. So, moving a non-functional mouse doesn't make a cursor move, as harming a non-functional nervous system does not cause pain I believe you are thinking of the operation that seperates the two hemispheres of the brain. Completely removing half of someone's brain would either kill them, or.............well, they'd most likely die. If you remove one part of the brain, another part doesn't make up for the loss. Think about Muhammed Ali. Because he was a boxer, he took a lot of hits to the head, causing brain damage in certain areas which is called being "punch drunk". To this day, Ali has problems talking and doing other basic activities with the damaged parts of the brain. No other part of the brain has attempted to make up for the damaged area. The brain is far too complicated for a task like this. The kidneys on the other hand can, mostly because they are far simpler, and have identical functions. Actually, Ali is kind of a tragic hero, in that his greatest atributes were his ability to talk and his agility, both of which are now hampered by his injuries |
