Abortion Memorial ServiceUnborn babies feel pain!Again, human life cannot be defined by physical actions or structures. It can only be based on the existence of a human conscious. Corpses can twitch for several minutes after they have been decapitated. Chickens run around for a while under the same circumstances. Neither of the examples could hardly be considered alive. Muscle spasms are no more a sign of life than a pulse is (A fetus gains a pulse at 2 weeks, but this pulse is the mother's heart beat). Creatures can lose a pulse for several minutes and still be alive. That does not mean they were ressurected. Again, life begins with a fertilized egg, but human life does not. A single celled zygote has just as much in common with my arm as it does with me. Now you are moving the discussion into an undebatable region, one of faith rather than observation. If you want to argue based on faith, go ahead. Just know that there are only two responses to that: 1. I have a faith different than yours 2. I have evidence contradicting your faith, but that hardly matters because the definition of faith defies all evidence. faith: 1. confidence or trust in a person or thing 2. belief that is not based on proof. (From Websters, which is sitting in my lap as I type this. Emphasis added.) If you want to make the argument that you have faith in your belief, then don't try and reinforce that faith with observation and science, as the two are irrelevant. |
