It's a good question, don't worry!
We do have points we agree upon, but as for beliefs themselves, I think there is very little, if anything in common where the subject of origins is concerned. You see, evolutionists essentially believe that life started simple and has been sort of going uphill in complexity and general desirability with time. Creationists believe exactly the opposite.
I grew up learning and believing evolution. When I started teaching, I taught evolution was "how God did it." (Never mind that He directly contradicts that in His Word!) From about the age of 25 to 30 (give or take a few months), I found myself reading everything I could get my hands on regarding the subject due to some rather innocent questions some of my students asked me. Innocent because no one set them up -- they just asked some questions that occurred to them. I did not want to give them 'pat' answers, so I started reading. The more I read the more I came to realize that evolution was impossible biologically. We can get variation, sure -- just like we have with dogs. No one is questioning variation -- sometimes referred to as speciation.
But there is no genetic way to get from bacteria to bear. None. It can't happen. Cells are designed to reject flaws. Proteins, which are the regulating engines of cells, get dismantled frequently into their composite amino acids and the amino acids reassembled into fresh proteins. So even if a strange new protein appeared, the cell wouldn't know what to do with it. So it would get disassembled. There goes evolution.
That was just one point. There are so many others.
But it took me five very long years of reading and arguing with myself and forcing myself to be honest about what those "crazy dumb creationists" were writing before I was willing and able to admit that evolution was a fraud. Those were hard times for me mentally and spiritually. It is a giant struggle to change from one world view to another. I am gathering from your discussion of homosexuality that you may also be facing a giant struggle. All I can tell you about that or about the creation-evolution controversy is go for the truth. Don't be afraid of it. Give up everything you have for the truth. Why? Because the truth will lead you Jesus Christ Himself, the Lord and Savior.
And we all need saving. Your signature says, ""Don't worry about life, you're not going to survive it anyway." The problem is you will survive it. Your body won't, but you will. Where you survive it is of utmost importance. I'm not threatening you with anything. I'm encouraging you to fight for the truth and not be afraid of it and follow it in every field of your life, no matter what.
Hang in there.
