Since Buddhism is a spin off from Hinduism it would follow that Hinduism also would regard any impediment to reincarnation such as abortion or birth control would be a major sin, but since Christianity is a spin off of Judaism, where there is no belief in reincarnation and no teaching against abortion modern anti-abortion claims for Christianity are spurious and are pagan borrowings, like our present Xmas is a Nordic pagan borrowing as is the Easter egg celebration of Easter. Christianity has over the years become heavily corrupted by pagan beliefs.
Psalm 137 is not out of context, but typical of Biblical teaching. Christianity is not a Religion of love and caring. It is a very tough Religion. Jesus himself calls his followers to sell their cloak and buy a sword and God frequently calls his people to kill the entire population of enemies, men, women, children and even live stock. and I seem to remember a passage in which God orders that the babies be ripped out of the womb of enemy women. I think it may be in Kings, perhaps pertaining to Jezebel, but if anyone has a concordance perhaps they can help me.
This may not appeal to sentimental people but Christianity is not a Religion for the sentimental. However today there is no law forcing one to be a Christan so if you do not like the Religion, find one you do like.
However I think Christianity is right. It IS a tough world and needs a tough religion to cope with it. Keith
