I believe that:
1 - Abortion is a moral wrong perpetuated upon the unborn by the selfish nature of the mother/father. Very rare are the cases of necessary abortion. Abortion on demand without medical necessity is, IMO, punishing the innocent for the misdeeds of the guilty.
2 - a lucid intelligent adult should be permitted to make a decision for themselves on this matter. While I do not agree with the decision to abort a pregnancy, I certainly do not agree with influencing the right of another adult to decide for themselves what they should do.
I know these two beliefs may appear to be contradictory, but I can assure you that separating the two elements (the act versus the decision) are two separate pieces of this discussion.
