From the verse you mentioned, I will explain it with Phillipians 2:5-8:
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Yes, I can understand that.

In any event, I do not see anything wrong with looking at the Father being over Christ because I'm sure Christ would not mind.
This has kind of pre-empted my next question about the headship of God over Christ, and the headship of Christ over Man in the following verse;
1Co 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is Elohim.
From this I don't just understand that there is hierarchy, but also that in this verse Elohim and Christ are seperate entities [but of course, I haven't forgotten hebrews 1:8].
By the way I don't doubt that Christ is divine, but I do believe that the Father created him.
