Aineo,
I do not think you are homophobic, or you would not be working with homosexuals or "former" homosexuals. That being said, I know you believe that homosexual acts are sinful, and you certainly do not believe in gay marriage, which means you do not believe in equal rights for all US citiizens. I am not talking about special rights, but equal rights under the law. I don't know if I believe in marriage at all with the divorce rates what they are in this country. Who says you have to me married to have a successful relationship? I guess I am sceptical as I am a child of divcorced parents, but I believe in all people having the right to marry if they want to take on the extra pressure.
I got off track and I do apoligize. If you don't believe in equal rights for all people, and you are basing this on your religous beliefs, which should have no baring on our rights in the USA, as we do have a separation between church and state in this country, or at least we are supposed to. You would be descriminating against a minority group based on their sexual orientation. This would make you bigoted against homosexuals. Let me provide the defintion of a bigot for you. A bigot is a person who regards his own faith and views in matters of religion as unquestionably right, and any belief or opinion opposed to or differing from them as unreasonable or wicked. In an extended sense, a person who is intolerant of opinions which conflict with his own, as in politics or morals; one obstinately and blindly devoted to his own church, party, belief, or opinion.
I realize being a bigot is different than being afraid of homosexuals, so Aineo, no, your are not homophobic, you are a bigot. I am not writing this to be inflamatory, I am just stating a fact based on the definition of the word bigot.
