Despite that the main mission of all prophets is one but Jesus (PBUH) and Muhammed (PBUH) 's mission has a special character for Jesus (PBUH) brought good tidings of Muhammad And so did Muhammed;
Jesus said :
"And when Jesus son of Mary said: O Children of Israel! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah untosyou, confirming that which was (revealed) before me in the Torah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger who cometh after me, whose name is the Praised One. Yet when be hath come unto them with clear proofs, they say: This is mere magic." [Quran:The Ranks,6]
1-Muhammad said, "Both in this world and in the Hereafter, I am the nearest of all the people to JESUS, the son of Mary. The prophets are paternal brothers; their mothers are different, but their religion is one."
2-Muhammad said brought good tidings of the second coming of Jesus (PBUH) He said "How will you be when the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) DESCENDS amongst you and he will judge people by the Law of the Qur'an and not by the law of Gospel .
So both of them brought good tidings of the other and we must believe
In them without making any distinction and for the followers
of Jesus(PBUH) the reward will be double since they first believe in
Jesus and then believe in Muhammad;
Muhammad said, "If a person teaches his slave girl good manners properly, educates her properly, and then manumits and marries her, he will get a double reward. And if a man believes in JESUS and then believes in me, he will get a double reward. And if a slave fears his Lord (i.e. Allah) and obeys his masters, he too will get a double reward."
The Prophet said, "If anyone testifies that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is His Slave and His Apostle, and that JESUS IS Allah's Slave and His Apostle and His Word which He bestowed on Mary and a Spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, Allah will admit him into Paradise with the deeds which he had done even if those deeds were few."
But may someone say isn't it enough for me to believe only in Jesus (and
Get one reward) or I must believe in both (Jesus and Mohamed) ??
And to answer this question we must note that the matter is not just
To believe in (Jesus And Mohamed) but it is to believe in God,
all His revealed Books and All His messengers, which Mohamed
was one of them and the last. And Mohamed never denied the mission
and the achievements of the former messengers on contrary he
described his mission only as an expansion, and completion to
their role. The two following Hadiths make it clear:
"My similitude in comparison with the other prophets before me, is that of a man who has built a house nicely and beautifully, except for a place of one brick in a corner. The people go about it and wonder at its beauty, but say: 'Would that this brick be put in its place!' So I am that brick, and I am the last of the Prophets."
And He said in other Hadith : "I have been sent so that I may fulfil and complete the best of manners'.
And also the following verse may clear this meaning:
"81) And when Allah made a covenant through the prophets: Certainly what I have given you of Book and wisdom -- then an apostle comes to you verifying that which is with you, you must believe in him, and you must aid him. He said: Do you affirm and accept My compact in this (matter)? They said: We do affirm. He said: Then bear witness, and I (too) am of the bearers of witness with you. 82) Whoever therefore turns back after this, these it is that are the transgressors." [Quran 3:81,82]
