Jesus (God) dwells in our hearts and the Body of Christ are citizens of His kingdom, which is not of this realm. Is there a difference between the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God? When a citizen of a nation moves to another nation they are still citizens of their home nation, however they do not take their home nation to their new location.
Did God dwell with Adam and Eve? Not according to Scripture where it states:
Genesis 3:8
8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. NAS
The only place in Scripture where we are told God dwelled among men is in John.
John 1:14-18
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him, and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.'" 16 For of His fulness we have all received, and grace upon grace. 17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. 18 No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
