Folks, nowhere in the Bible is Eve held accountable! She was deceived! It was Adam who knew precisely what he was doing. Did he think he could save Eve? Did he consider it impossible to live without her? I don't know.
But Eve was deceived and the person who is deceived is not held accountable for what they do in response to that deceit.
Satan has NEVER had to use any other temptation with any of us than he did with Eve. It comes in two parts:
1. Did God REALLY say....??
2. Why don't you think for yourself instead.....
Questioning God's clear word and 'deciding for yourself' on a matter that is clear in God's Word is the disobedience and rebellion.
Our own lusts are results of not following God, not the cause of it. And they get us into more and more trouble.
It is very possible Eve was deceived because Satan, as Lucifer in the beginning, was appointed the guardian cherub of Eden (Ezekiel 28:13-17), so Eve knew him and trusted him.
If this is true, then it is a further warning that no matter what authority claims, if it goes against the clear Word of God as we know it, we will be held accountable.
