ArchivedHebrews 6:4-6 and OSASGotcha, thanks! I guess the relevant point that I didn't see a response to was where Jesus says "Depart from me, I never knew you". What I don't see in vss. 20 and 22 is where these folks are condemned to hell. All I see is that they fall into sin and become unfruitful. It doesn't say that they "fall away". You can fall into sin and be unfruitful and still get to heaven, right? You're adding that in. Neither the parable nor the explanation say that it is a gospel message based on the Word of the Kingdom of heaven. The parable itself simply says "But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat". And the explanation says "but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil". The idea that the false message must be based on the true message is something that you are reading into the verses. The verses only say that the enemy sows tares - be they outright lies or subtle deceptions. So any and all false religions fit the bill of being tools that the devil uses to sow tares into the world. Where do we find that "harvest" = "rapture"? The harvest is to take place at the end of the age, correct? The end of the age is after the millenium, when the old heaven and earth are destroyed and the new heaven and earth are created. So the harvest takes place at the same time as the destruction of the old heaven and earth, not at the rapture, which is 1007 years earlier. We know that at that time there are two judgments - the Judgment Seat of Christ (for all saved) and the Great White Throne (for all unsaved). These two judgments correspond to how the two sets of people are harvest - one is gathered into bundles to be burned, i.e. Great White Throne; and the other is gathered into the Master's barn, i.e. Judgment Seat of Christ. The mystery of where the 7th trumpet went is the same as the mystery of where the 7th seal went. In Revelation 8, we see the 7th seal opened, and basically nothing happens except that we move right into the 1st of seven trumpets. The answer is that the 7th seal is the 7 trumpet judgments. Likewise, the 7th trumpet is the 7 vial judgments. Interesting verse to end on. Many are called; Few are chosen...... But how many are chosen once and then unchosen? |
