ArchivedHebrews 6:4-6 and OSAS9. |1161| But |3982| we have been persuaded (to convince by argument) |4012| about |5216| you, |0027| loved ones |3588| the things |2909| better, |2532| even |2192| holding fast |4991| salvation, |1499| if indeed |3779| so |2980| we speak. If OSAS was true there is no need for the Hebrew writer to say "even holding fast salvation". If you can't lose something then there is no need to hold fast onto it. The statement "Indeed, if you look at verse 9, you see that the writer says that these things are not things that accompany true salvation." Is adding a false doctrine to what was written. The sentence is simple and to the point. For you to get that meaning then other verses before this would have had to be changed also. You want other verses to say something else so this one also has to be changed to match what it says! Instead of going to Commentaries beads read the actual verses. |
