Doodleqacker, I just noticed that a bunch of your other posts have to do with sexual orientation, so I'm assuming that the "sexual hangups" that you refer to are more along the lines of hetero vs. homosexual relationships rather than monogamous vs. promiscuous.
That being the case, you state that christians "suppress perfectly natural and enjoyable feelings". I'm not gonna argue "enjoyable" - I personally would not find a homosexual relationship enjoyable in the least, but there are those that do. "Enjoyable" is a very subjective word. "Natural", on the other hand, is debatable. You'll say that homosexuality is found in nature, right? In the animal kingdom? So, that makes it natural. Well, that comes down to how you view humans. If we are nothing more than glorified animals (like evolution says), then I suppose this would be true. If you take a Biblical viewpoint, though, that is far from the truth. However, even if evolution is true, and we only keep those genes which allow the fittest to survive (a gross oversimplification of the ToE, but that's not the point), how does homosexuality fit in? It doesn't allow for procreation at all, so how could it survive? Also, if homosexuality is natural, wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that there would be a fair split between heteros and homos? But that's not what we see at all - it's more like 95% to 5%. Nature's not very good at diversification, is she, if homosexuality is natural.
