ArchivedChristians - Born or Made?Hahaha! Oh, thanks for the laugh, doodlewacker! Well, sure. Christians should have a very deep interest in Jesus, given the things that the Bible says about Him. So, I'll give you this one. It's a wonder that any Christians ever graduate from high school, let alone college or graduate school if this is true. Christians do not ignore reason, science, and logic - we simply look at them from a different perspective. We match up what the Bible says with what man's ideas say and see which one holds water. If anyone does any ignoring, it's the non-Christians, who ignore the Bible at every chance they get. Right. That's why Christians have been responsible for setting up organizations like the YMCA and the Salvation Army - so we can keep ourselves isolated. Couldn't possibly be that they were set up to help society. And that's also why you've never heard of any church sending out missionaries. Seriously......... Mudslinging won't get you anywhere. I'm sure you believe in some things that someone else might call a delusion, but just because you say it, doesn't mean a thing. You comment on Satan having red horns and carrying a pitch fork makes me believe you've not ever read the Bible, but rather you're just spouting off the same old jargon that you've heard elsewhere without ever putting some real research into the issue. Satan is never pictured in the Bible as Hollywood likes to portray him. He is, however, described as an "angel of light" in 2 Corinthians 11. This is because his most effective way of getting to people is through subtlty, not blatant anti-God/anti-Christian teachings. The idea of the wording in Luke is that a man's love for God must be so great that his love for his family should seem like hate in comparison. I'm sure you've heard this response before, but have just chosen to ignore it. Why you would continue to just regurgitate the same old anti-Christian jargon when you've been given an answer before is beyond me.... Every group in the world - religious or not (including whatever group you would classify yourslef as belonging to) - is responsible for some sort of violence in the world. You can't, however, take the extreme actions of a few fanatics and make your determination about that group based on those people's actions. In this case, you need to not look at what people have done in the name of Christianity, but rather, you need to get into the Bible and see what it really says about Christianity. We "suffer from severe sexual hang-ups"? Like what? Staying married to and only having sex with one partner? How is that a hang-up? Maybe I think the alternative (promiscuity) is a hang-up that you suffer from. Maybe I think it's a disease that you can't make a commitment (I infer) to one person and actually have it mean something. Maybe I think it's more noble for someone to say "I will have control over myself because I've made a commitment to my spouse" than for them to say "Ya' know, I can't control myself at all - I'm gonna have sex with everyone." You can call my beliefs a "sexual hang-up" if you want.... as long as you don't mind it if I call you a "selfish whore". See answer to #6. See what the Bible says about hatred and bigotry. Don't base your conclusions on the acts of some. However, it is interesting that you would mention these, because you seem to be suffering from them as well. Do you tolerate Christianity? From the tone of your post, I would say "No". |
