as i pointed out earlier, our differences lie in the fact that you see the Bible as fact and i see it as a bloody good story. there is absolutely nothing you can say to make me change my mind on that. my own logic, experience, observations, common sense and personal principles will simply not permit it.
to me, the bible is in large parts outmoded and no longer holds a place in the 21st century. the world has moved forward and people must either move forward with it or be left behind. to refer to Biblical scripture as truth and the "way" when it comes to some of the problems beset by modern man is the same as referring to monkey's for lessons on how to walk on two feet. the world has evolved past the point of the bible and new mythologies are needed to fill that vacuum. my advice is to look to art, literature and philosophy instead. even better than that, look to yourself. scary idea, i know, but i have this crazy belief that deep down, every one of us knows exactly what the right thing to do is and if we listen closely enough, match our words with our actions and believe in ourselves we can't really go wrong in this world. it all boils down to "do unto others".
