That claim was just made in another post, another thread. I strongly disagree.
Science is the study of the world around us. How on earth can we fulfill the command to take dominion of the earth if we know nothing about it?
Most of the great scientists of the past, the founders of the various modern disciplines, were Bible believing Christians.
And as the wife of a scientist and someone who has taught and edited and peer-reviewed in that field, I know for a fact that the more we discover, the more in awe of God we are. The intricate, intelligent, irreducibly complex design of the cell, for example, was totally unknown 150 years ago when Darwinism was new. Darwin thought of the cell as sort of a blob. We know better now, because of science. And in learning about the cell, we have been able to learn more about, and therefore help deal with, birth defects, viral attacks, and cancer, to name a few.
It is the heart of men before regeneration by Christ -- this heart always tends toward evil. But knowledge of the world and cosmos around us is simply that -- knowledge. It is what we choose to do with it that can be good or bad.
