ArchivedA good reason for Christians to vote for Bush... :: ReplyReply I don't know if you believe in the Judeo-Christian God, Narky (And I know you don't, gerani), but He knew what He was doing when He put Bush in power. So who knows what the Lord has in store for President Bush and those who live under his rule? I, for one, am looking forward to finding out. There is only one time when we are told that it is all right to disobey the authorities, and that is when our obedience would put our Christian morality in jeopardy.
Now, there's a contradiction. You have no faith in the adoption system, yet you hope to use that same system to obtain a child? That doesn't make sense. A person should never think of themself as a burden. Taking care of my father was a great honor. Not to mention the fact that it helped me to develop a closer relationship with him. If a person feels like they're a burden, then perhaps it's the fault of the person taking care of them? But feeling like a burden is never a cause for someone to say, "Please, murder me." And who knows? Perhaps the miracle the dying person is asking for is right around the corner. But they won't find out if their life is taken at their request. It's a shame that you don't place much value on human life, gerani. I agree. But there's hope. If every single person in this country were to decide to follow the one true God, we would see a radical change...for the better. The Crusades were initiated by the Catholic Church (If I remember correctly), and there was nothing Christian about that war. It was all about power. It's the same, I believe, with Galileo. (Although I must admit, I don't know what you're talking about there.) Gerani, I'm a fundamentalist Christian. When have I ever said that God hates child molesters and gay people? When have I ever said that He hates ANYONE? Have you even visited my website, which is all about putting forth the truth: That God loves us all? The people who claim that God hates gays (Fred Phelps, for example) are Christian by name, but not by action. If they knew anything about God, they would know that He sent Jesus Christ to die for us all, not just for the Calvinists. But I take solace in the fact that God will see to it that they will be brought to justice. Don't let their hate-filled statements convince you that Christians are like that. Just look at the example Jesus Christ left in the four Gospels. He would never walk the streets, screaming, "I hate you!! You're going to burn in Hell!! I hate you, you ******ing *****, etc. etc." Instead, He'd treat people with kindness, love and compassion. He set a great example, and every Christian should follow it. Unoriginal? How so? By the way, after a person becomes a Christian, they are set free from the constraints that sin has placed around them. I love the freedom that I've been given, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I have not been forced to follow God's laws. I choose to, because for me, it's like an instinct. Not to mention the fact that those laws were created to act as safety nets for all of us. I'd rather follow those laws and seem as though I'm a mindless slave, than go against God and end up spiritually dead. Also, you say that you don't believe in Satan's existence. How, then, can you explain the existence of evil in the world? Where do our inclinations to commit murder, to lie, to steal, etc. come from? |
