Ptolemy, why did you have to go to an online Bible to find Revelation 21:7-8? Don't you have a copy of a Bible?
Have you studied Acts 15?
Acts 15:22-29
22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas-- Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brethren, 23 and they sent this letter by them,
"The apostles and the brethren who are elders, to the brethren in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia who are from the Gentiles, greetings.
24 "Since we have heard that some of our number to whom we gave no instruction have disturbed you with their words, unsettling your souls, 25 it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 "Therefore we have sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will also report the same things by word of mouth.
28 "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell. " NAS
Gentiles are not under the minutia of the Torah, but gentiles are still under God's moral law. Appealing to Deuteronomy is nothing more than a straw man designed to sidetrack this discussion.
Selectively appealing to what is “normal” in the animal kingdom to justify what God labels sin is ludicrous if you are going to ignore all other animal behavior as “normal” for men.
A man can have a lovingly intimate relationship with other men without getting sex involved. Jesus had such relationships with His Apostles. David and Jonathan had this type of relationship which you have tried to besmirch by labeling it a sexual relationship.
Since you love to quote the Torah then you need to consider that Abraham and Sarah lived before the Law was given. Lot’s sin with his daughters resulted in nations that later persecuted the Hebrews. And if you have bothered to study Hebrews and other books in the Bible “righteousness” is imputed to men by God and is based on “faith”.
Revelation 21:7-8
7 "He who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. 8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." NAS
Tell me Ptolemy do you have a dictionary from 1611? If not then you cannot tell me what “sodomy” meant in the 17th century since word meaning evolve over time. How do modern Bibles translate Deuteronomy 23:17?
Deuteronomy 23:17
17 "None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, nor shall any of the sons of Israel be a cult prostitute. NAS
17 "There shall be no ritual harlot of the daughters of Israel, or a perverted one of the sons of Israel. NKJV
17 No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute.
(from New International Version)
17 "There shall be no cult prostitute of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a cult prostitute of the sons of Israel. RSV
17 "No Israelite, man or woman, is to become a temple prostitute. TEV
17 "No Israelite man or woman may ever become a temple prostitute. NLT
17. `There must be no sacred prostitute among the women of Israel, and no sacred prostitute among the men of Israel. NJB
If your only disagreement with Scripture is the King James Version that buy a new and better translation or learn Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, and Chaldean and study from the more than 26000 manuscripts that are available.
The webmaster is correct, your last post was a total waste of time. You have not really addressed the issues you yourself have brought up.
