The Corinthian people's former religion was Helenism that already believed in the resurrection of man and the belief of heaven and hell prior to Christianity. So I would say your interpretation is way off from the reality of the former beliefs of those people which conformed to some of what they had already believed in the new faith of Christianity.
Even so we come to a disagreement as to what Paul meant by such accusation to the Corinthians, it is understood from that prior to Christianity they already had believed in a resurrection in their former religion of Helenism. This ressurection therefore is refering directly, in the context as Paul uses, infering to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Which was the same belief Paul was tackling with the Phillipians of "The Enemies of The Cross of Christ"
Helenism actually doesn't teach a ressurection of the dead, you have that confused with Zoroastrianism.
According to the Greeks you died and went to dank Hades. There is no ressurection. The Jews also didn't believe in a ressurection either. Jesus addressed these Jews. There were Jews and Greeks that became Christians who still didn't accept a ressurection of the dead.
Paul and Jesus were talking about the same thing.
