Believer wrote:I do believe this is about people that denies Jesus's ressurection. They don't see Jesus's suffereing on the cross as Him bearing our sins. That seems quite realistic.
Everyone saw Jesus nailed to the cross and cruficied. He didn't magically disappear or anything. I do think Mary would have recognized her son whe nHe was taken down. The Jews made sure Jesus was dead by piercing Him with the sword.
Well who is to say who is right or who is wrong. 600 years later a religion arises confirming what a sect of earlier Christians believed apposed to Pauls teachings.
The Atheists have a point if Jesus was crucified by the romans with the influence of the Sandhedrin who wanted to him dead and their was a big scene why is this MUTE among the roman writings. Their is no account of someone by the name of Yeshu or Iesus being sentence to crucifixion.
Then we find out that there were Christian who rejected Jesus crucifixion and resurrection in which PAul even stressed in compitition to his opposing Christian brothers "
1 Corinthians 15
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all[the disciples]: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they[the disciples], so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished
Now it is clear that there was a sect of Christians that opposed Paul's Crucifixion Resurrection Doctrine of Christ.
Who is to say they were wrong and Paul was right vs vs ?
Then six hundred years later after this Christian movement got whipped out that the belief arose again in the Sripture of the Quran?
Now how do you suppose Muhammad knew about a Christian sect belief in the time of Christ whom rejected The Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ when such believers had become extinct way before his time ?
