Christian/Muslim ThreadsIf the devil can be a snake, cant God be a man?Omega wrote: Jesus is an incarnation of God. the same as how i see Buddha and Krishna an incarnation of God. they teach the same thing... but you omega, like all other christians limit yourselves to see that only one person can have God's essence and you limit to see God and describe him using ur senses. unlike I who believes that God's essence belongs in everyone (including you omega!) and Jesus, Buddha, and Krisha's dharma was to open that essence in other people using thier similair teachings. God cannot be described in concrete ways. Hindus only use those statues to portray the attributes of God and how we as believers should live. like you said. the elephant headed Sri MahaGanapti (Ganesha). His trunk represents how we should be gentle to do rightous and be fierce when against evil, the trunk can lift a single blade of grass, and at the same time, can tear down a tree trunk! Ganesha has gentle eyes, God's benevolance and love for us. He has a large tummy, representing the universe, How he is omni present and every where. and its much easier to pray to God through his attributes. |
