hindus are tolerant.
dont even dare mention the caste system. you have no idea how many hindus think its wrong. only the elitist bourgious brahmins use it.
other than that you dont know anything about it. its a cultural thing. far far far from religious.
the caste system's goal centuries and centuries ago was good. because it gave people equality, to some degree. different castes had different priveleges. and it was to prevent from too many people from getting into one job and less ppl from another. like they need enough ppl to protect the ppl (kshatriya) but enough ppl to cultivate food (shudra/vaishya).
but as time went on, so ppls minds became corrupt. western thoughts also made things worse.
brahmins (priests) made more and more religious rules segregating castes and making everything unequal and discriminatory. and thus Vishnu (the holy god of preservation, 2nd god in the hindu trinity) was incarnated into buddha to teach hindus to stay away from too many rituals, that the purpose in life is to attain moksha (nirvana) and union of thier atman (soul) to the divine.
back on track, now in hisotry, the caste system has been outlawed but it is still used on a social scale.
i agree, the caste system is now wrong. but this is a cultural thing. Hindusim is a culture and a religion: its a way of life, as you may have heard. theres nothing we can do, but learn from the past.
the true hindu (as well as the true chirstian that believes in God and does His will) believes that forcibly converting someonelse is wrong. even though many people in both religions have done contrary. like jehovas witnesses who were knocking on my door the other week.
and one last thing, dont put words in jesus's mouth. he never said that people who arent christian worship directly or indirectly to satan.
satan is an abstract thing, existant only in the human mind, full of evil, it is not an actuall being. i had to say that for all those fantasy people out there who think the devil is an actual monster in the center of the earth.
satan does exist, but just cuz im hindu, doesnt mean i worship him...
as a follower of God, you all must learn sooner or later that each relgion is a path to God, supreme union with the devine self and such. if you cant open ur mind to other people's perspective, you cannot call urself a true follower of God. God wants his people to be united, not seperated by religious institutions.
