ArchivedDifference of understandingWell obviously the VALIDITY of that information IS reason to further delve into it, and that is what is being discussed. WRONG! Speak on your own behalf, the above statement is a BIG acknowledgement of leading a blind faith. I don’t lead a blind faith thank you very much. Im confident with the Christian approach because ive come to conclude that it is the most intellectually tenable approach, and since there is but one truth, that one truth is intellectually evident in Christian theology – coherent in Christian theology and existent solely in Christian theology. Amen. If you’re not willing to consider VALID and sincere objections to the points you raise then you ARE wasting your time. I don’t feel im wasting my time, because unlike you i have tried to objectively analyse “OneGods” arguments, and haven’t just blindly dismissed them. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free!” John 8:32. God’s truth stands clear from error, and the more im exposed to skeptical refutations the more confident I become in my own religious beliefs and the more im aware of others objections in order to be prepared to defend the one true faith next time the issue comes up. I don’t feel im wasting my time at all. No form of interfaith dialogue is fruitless. Everyone learns something, and me and OneGods “exchange of ideas” has not completed because if you’ve been reading theres obviously certain critical issues that im still waiting a response for. The quarrel began when you decided to post some ideas, in a DEBATE forum, blindly dismissing any form of an objection – not even considering the validity of it, not even reading it and then blindly (and so HYPOCRTICALLY) accusing the Christian of trying to conceal the truth and deception and all this other rubbish. If you feel so confident in the blind faith you’re obviously living, and incapable of or even willing to handle any valid objections then what are you doing here? All I can say from my perspective is that you will have no excuse before the Lord on the last day – He gave you logic he gave you reason, on this website you’ve had opportunity to objectively investigate but you’ve continued to choose the blind path. I don’t think any Muslim (from the layman to the scholar) has a consistent stance on the Bible. Satan has certainly played some nasty tricks on you guys from my perspective, leaving you hints in your own Quran upholding the integrity of the Bible, and leaving other verses to be manipulated so that others can argue that the Bible somehow became corrupt (although there is absolutely no historical evidence for this). Ive spoken to Muslims ranging from those who outright reject the Bible, to those who accept only the sayings of Christ, to those who will accept whatever conforms with their own theology (even if that means interpreting it out of context), to those who accept the Bible as it is and try to force their own theology into the text which according to proper hermeneutics can never logically stand. Let me tell you something. All aspects of Christian theology (apart from being absolutely harmonious with scripture) are compatible with the human mind – especially the essentials concerning how one attains salvation and EVEN the Trinity if one tried to look at it objectively. Logic, and reason is what brought the early church to formulate the doctrine into an official creed, but its truth extends back to Jewish thoughts concerning God and His word, and Spirit. Some things may seem incomprehensible to the human finite mind, but when we are dealing with an infinite supreme being and His actions I don’t see any validity in raising objections to the comprehensibility of an issue. If it can be logically deduced from the Bible and if everything can thus make sense, that’s all that is necessary. Absolutely NOT!! And if any Christian has given you this idea I apologise on their behalf for their ignorance – I can quite confidently say that everything I believe is supported by strict logic – aspects of comprehensibility however is another issue. To give you a very brief example I was speaking with an atheist the other day, using science – especially the laws of thermodynamics to logically deduce that there must have been an “uncaused cause” of the universe i.e. a cause that is infinite. But to explain with the human finite mind, how anything can exist without a cause – is beyond human comprehensibility. So although I could not justify the concept of infinite due to issues of comprehensibilty (no human on earth can), I could still use strict logic to argue that although infinite cannot be explained, there must have been an infinite cause of the universe. And im sure you as a Muslim would have to agree with me on this once, because its concerning an attribute of God that both the Christian and Muslim accepts. Anyone reading up on this topic will already clearly see that. The last thing I want to say, because you have this idea I think that is inhibiting you from properly investigating religion from an intellectual perspective, is that Gods truth prevails over all. Christ accused the Jews with a prophecy from Isaiah that they had ears but could not hear, and that they had eyes but could not see, minds but could not understand. But I assure you – as a once lukewarm Christian whose scientific and modern views on life almost had him labeling the idea of anything supernatural as ridiculous – an absolutely objective intellectual investigation into religion considering BOTH sides equally will yield the truth and it wont be vague it will be crystal clear. God left us with enough significant evidence to validate his truth, and yes sincerity will be the key in the end to accepting this truth. Amen. |
