ArchivedDifference of understandingHi, This quote, I always hear from Christian missionaries and this is how they respond to every scientific miracle, it was known before. But let me ask: Every thing they claimed Muhammad learned about science is from those Greece philosephers, now we all know that eventhough they had some correct observations they also had some wrong ones. Now let me ask, how come Muhammad borrowed only the correct ones? What are the chances that he knew what is right and what is wrong in their scientific claims? Let's assume that Muhammad had a copy of all their scientific claims. As we all should know it contained true observations and false ones. Now as we imagine Muhammad learning from these books, one can assume he borrowed from them, but how come everything he borrowed was correct and everything else he didn't borrow was false? How smart was Muhammad to distinguish between flase scientific claims and true ones? Let's read the verses: 71:16] He designed the moon therein to be a light, and placed the sun to be a lamp. [10] He is the One who rendered the sun radiant, and the moon a light, and He designed its phases that you may learn to count the years and to calculate. GOD did not create all this, except for a specific purpose. He explains the revelations for people who know. I don't see any problems with the verses above as it shows the different aspects of the sun and the moon and the clear distinctive measure of each object.
It is true that God calls himself NOUR in the above verses but it doesn't mean he refelcts light. This is just dumb. As I showed above, words can take on many different meaning depending on the context. WHen Allah calls himself NOUR it means that he is really like NOUR or light. ALso, it can never mean reflected light anyway because once we read the whole verse it would be understood that God does not refelct light rather it means that God is the light itself from that lamp( real meaning:he will show the straight path). This means that the prophet is spreading light ( meaning, he shows the way to the straight path). This light is emitted from a source and that source is the light (God). I know this would seem kinda confusing but that's how arabic is. Even hebrew the same exact thing. I use such words in hebrew that way and would be understood my way. AGain, Arabic is not English, not every word mean something. You can not read that Quran that way. Every word is to be understood in its own context. When the prophet is called Lamp it simply means he is spreading light ( or showing the way to God). WHen God call himself NOUR (or light) it means that he is that light (his way is the straight way). When calling the sun Lamp (it is understood as source of light which is true) and when calling the moon MUNEER it does mean reflecting light and that is because they are both put in the same sentence along with the word Lamp referring to the sun. Undestanding the use of words as explicit meanings in a foreign language is just kinda dumb I think. Here we have people from asnwering-Islam who do not know Arabic and now teaching us about our language. IS it our fault they compare Arabic to English? No. I know many Christians will not like this answer. The reason I responded is not to show the Quran as a divine revelation at all but to show you that not everything you read on the NET is true. People deceive, and whoever believed in that link is also deceived about it. For someone who doesn't know Arabic will take it for granted as something that is true when as a matter of fact it isn't at all. It makes me laugh and sad at the same time. It makes me laugh at their stupidity (Answering-Islam) and it makes me sad that people actually read those lies and believe them. Peace every one and God bless all. |
