Forgive me if this sounds like an ingnorant question: Where in the Scriptures does it say that Michael is an "angel", in the sense of a created being?
I have found in Jude where it calls him "the archangel" (head of the angels), but does that mean that he is an angel just because he leads them? The U.S President is called the "Commander in Chief" over all the military, yet he is not himself an enlisted soldier. Isn't it possible that one other than an angel (such as the Father or the Son) could lead the angels?
It is interesting to note that the word "archangel" (Strong's #743-Greek) only appears twice in the scriptures, both times in the NT, and is singular "the archangel" and not "an" which would indicate the plural. So, it would appear that there is only one who has the station of leading the angels.
