ArchivedAnother QuestionPeace Carol, No Carol, dear, this is not the case. Let me tell you why. The good deeds are only accepted through sincere faith. Meaning you have to do them in order to please God alone. You cannot separate faith from works. Yes your deeds are weighed, however, as I have already stated, they are to be done through good faith. There are ofcourse different cases. Like if a person just accepted Islam, and had died, it is not their works that will save them, but their faith. That’s true only if the martyr died only for the sake of Allah, and not to please other people so that he can be considered a brave person. There’s an actual hadith about that. But moving on to what I wanted to say. There are other people who were assured paradise such as some of the companions of the prophet who were the best of generations. Carol, in Islam we say this : “ faith with out works is fruitless”. Good deeds make one’s faith grow and become stronger. To have faith means that you need to follow the commandments of God, and following these commandments will give you your good deeds. Good deeds do not just come from following the 5 pillars of Islam, it also comes from the smaller things such as smiling at your fellow human being, showing kindness to your neighbours and even picking up litter from the streets. I'll leave the rest to Alexei. Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
