ArchivedI just dont believe that men have authority over womenNaruto, I said according to God, man has the right to be the head of their families. Now, some verses in the Bible are pretty literal, and in the context of Biblical scripture what I said does have premise. The fact that you posted all those verses implies to me, that you think those verses should be taken literally AND applied to today. Well, you’re only right with some of those verses. The ones from Lev.20:10, Num.11:1, Lev.24:16, 2 Chr.15:13 for example, are aimed specifically towards Israel in terms of immediate punishment. Passages like Mk.16:16 (you can probably put 2 Chr.15:13 in there also) is referring to punishment not immediate (although immediate punishment is not out of the question), but punishment that will eventually happen, i.e. the judgement day. So, you have these first 3 possibilities with those verses you posted (4 overall when reading ALL of Biblical scripture): 1) The passage is both literal and applied to today. 2) The passage is literal and applied to a specific nation or people. 3) The passage is literal and applied both to today and the specific nation/people it was spoken to. 4) The passage is not literal. Now(back to the original point), while the context of the Bible gives man the right to be the head of their families, that does not mean women do not have the right to be the head of their families. You have to think accordingly Naruto. You’re a pretty reasonable person—like one of your signatures say, "Believing without thinking is like eating without swallowing." |
