ArchivedPLEASE THINK!!!!!!Peace be to you Carol,
If I’m not mistaken, are you referring to Shrik (associating partners with God)? I’m assuming you are, Carol what you must understand is that there’s a condition that goes along with Shrik. If an individual commits Shrik, and does not seek repentance and dies on that sin, then he or she will automatically go to Hell. However, those sins that are not Shrik, and even though a person may not ask forgiveness of them and if they die with those sins, then the judgement lies with God and it’s His choosing whether he forgives or not. In Islam we are taught that if a person thinks about committing a sin, but does not go through with it, he/she will be rewarded. It states in a Hadith Qudsi: On the authority of son of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), among the sayings he related from his Lord (glorified and exalted be He) is that He said: Allah has written down the good deeds and the bad ones. Then He explained it [by saying that] he who has intended a good deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times over. But if he has intended a bad deed and has not done it, Allah writes it down with Himself as a full good deed, but if he has intended it and has done it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed. It was related by al-Bukhari and Muslim. No Carol, Allah forgives the sins of those who repent. This is why we call Him the “Most Merciful”. Also in another Hadith Qudsi, it illustrates the mercy of God: On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: My mercy prevails over my wrath. It was related by Muslim (also by al-Bukhari, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah). What do you mean changes His mind? As I said, all who come before God in sincere repentance, God has promised to forgive them. But offcourse there’s the condition that they shall not associate any partners with Him. In Islam there were many righteous men, and there are probably many that are among us. Now that doesn’t mean that they are prefect, but yes they are righteous. Well that’s according to Islam. God never needs to lower his Holy state to allow man into paradise. In Islam, even though that many times over in the Qur’an and Hadith, it is promised that those who have faith and do righteous deed will be emitted into paradise, it is not of the characteristics of a believer to be as arrogant in saying that they definitely have their place in heaven. The final judgement lies with the Almighty God. We are taught to be humble, as those who came before us, and it is not befitting a mere human being to be boasting in such a way. I mean that in no disrespect to you Carol, but this is what Islam teaches us. We’re are given many examples of the companions of the Prophet who were promised paradise while they were alive, and yet they were still humble and feared their judgement. The believing Muslim women, like the men are promised paradise. Women are equal before God. Allah says in the Quran: "For Muslim men and women, for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in charity, for men and women who fast, for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah's praise, for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward." (33:35) And again: "Who so does that which is right, and believes, whether male or female, him or her will We quicken to happy life." (16:97) In Islam, women are highly respected. Our beloved Prophet said: Abu Hurayrah reported that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and asked: "O Messenger of Allah, who is the person who has the greatest right on me with regards to kindness and attention?" He replied, "Your mother." "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother." "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother." "Then who?" He replied, "Your father." ( Sahih Bukhari) Also : Mu'awiyah, the son of Jahimah, reported that Jahimah came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said, " Messenger of Allah! I want to join the fighting (in the path of Allah) and I have come to seek your advice." He said, "Then remain in your mother's service, because Paradise is under her feet." Before I answer your question, I want to refer back to the Hadith: Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet said: "I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were ungrateful." It was asked, "Do they disbelieve in Allah?" (or are they ungrateful to Allah?) He replied, "They are ungrateful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the favours and the good (charitable deeds) done to them. If you have always been good (benevolent) to one of them and then she sees something in you (not of her liking), she will say, 'I have never received any good from you." Islam does not generalise against all women. The women that the Prophet is speaking on is a specific group of women that are ungrateful to their husbands, and treat their husbands as if they are slaves for her and her children Such women that have these characteristics need to seek repentance. Allah tells us in the Quran that: "They (your wives) are your garment and you are a garment for them." (2:187) For the bad omen of women, it’s talking about the bad characteristics of women. For example, the characteristics that many women sadly have are that they gossip too much, they slander their sisters, backbiting etc… I swear to God it’s so true what the Prophet said about many women, you only need to come to my Muslim community to see it present. It’s really a blessing to find a woman that doesn’t engage in gossiping and disassociates herself from backbiting. Do I say that all women are like this? Obviously not, and may God forgive me for all I have contributed to such gatherings. All that I have said that was correct is from God Almighty, and all the wrong I have said is from me. Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
