Hi Kai! Yes...u may call me sister Aishah.
First and foremost, would like to thank you for your lenghty reply...which include several referral and your opinion! And yesh, i would, would like to read up...all your refferal plus comments. But, upon reffering to my Qur'an...on the verses u've mention, written...didn't turn out to be wat u have written it... to be. Hmm...this is rather contradicting..You've written as shown below.
Quote:
"Prophet, We have made lawful to you the wives whom you have granted dowries and the slave girls whom God has given you as booty;..." (Sura 33: 50)
My referral from the Qur'an state as such...
"O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom thy right hand possesses out of prisoners of war whom God has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts, who migrated (from Mekkah) with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her;- this only for thee, and not for Believers (at large); We know what We have appointed for them as to their wives and the captives whom their right hands posses;- in order that there should be no difficulty for thee. And God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."
[Surah 33:50]
Quote:
Another one is:
"...who restrain their carnal desires (except with their wives and slave girls, for these are lawful to them..." (Sura 23: 5-6)
"Who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands posses;- for (in ther case) they are free from blame,.." [Surah 23:5-6]
Hmm...i was wondering why izit the verse u retrieve from your Qur'an differs from mine?
Kai replies:
Hi again sister
I guess we are using different translations, however, I do not see how these translations differ in their meaning.
