Archivedpredestination questionsThe only "if" in your post above is a statement of your belief ("if God predestines some to destruction, then He's the author of evil"), which I did address. There aren't any other "ifs" for me to ignore. On another note, it's interesting how you're quick to accept a "predestination of the damned is a hypothetical situation" in response to Romans 9:21-22; yet you would never even consider an "apostacy of the saints is a hypothetical situation" in response to Hebrews 6:4-6...... But, of course, this discussion is not about OSAS, so please don't shut down this thread just because I made a simple observation of your inconsistency. Put it in context. The whole passage is basically saying, "Who are you to question and/or talk back to God?" The "what if" in this context is basically saying "So what if God chooses to let the unrighteous continue in their wicked ways for a time, instead of sending them straight to the destruction that they were prepared for? He's God, and He's allowed to do that!" Your explanation of our choices being what prepares us for destruction does not account for the fact that in the previous verse Paul clearly states that some vessels are made (and the word "made" has the idea of produced, constructed, formed, or fashioned) for honor, while others are made for dishonor. How so? I've addressed this in other threads, and you've ignored me. |
