Archivedsee the truth of islamI decided to pop back in (after not having been here for a long time) and noticed this post. I've found it very interesting and include issues that all of us have questions about. I, myself am no bible "scholar". I've gone to church all my life, attending Sunday School and youth group. I'm involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, but nothing compares to a person's own discovery of the inerrant Bible. I do consider myself a person who's reasonably good at answering questions. I may not be able to quote *insert random verse* from memory, but I know how to find out if you have a question about something. It doesn't matter how much stuff you've amassed inside of your head if you're not going to apply it properly. My view: I'll answer any question someone asks me and explain why I believe that way if they need me to. If I don't know, I will say that and tell them who to talk to or find out myself. (KJV, www.bible.com) No offense, but what does spelling and grammar have to do with anything. I'm a regular member (and moderator) at another forum and believe me I've seen much worse. As Christians, we have a right to be reasonably closed-minded. What unblievers are really asking us is to empty our heads and let them fill it up. I will listen to what others have to say and if it contradicts what the Bible says, then I will politely refrain from it. Universal salvation: contradictory to Christianity. Stating the obvious, we know that no man is perfect, save Christ. We know that sin can not enter Heaven because God is perfect and will not have it in his presence. Ergo, we need to be forgiven of our sins. John 14:6 spells out that the only way to be forgiven is through belief in Christ. Wow, this was a bit lengthier than I thought it'd be. -Amé |
