No matter how much you may have disagreed with my viewpoints, you should have given me simple human decency. There was no need for any "ad hominem" attacks on me (or my Christian faith!!).
I have been mildly disillusioned with my experience on this forum. You should be open to diverse perspectives and innovative ideas. This is how truth is discerned in all avenues of human endeavor, including religion.
I fear that evangelical Christianity has become too narrow and intolerant of alternative opinions. In a country where almost anything is OK to talk about, why the reticence to discuss alternative theological ideas?
I will not give up my belief in universal salvation, any more than I will give up my belief in the doctrine of the Trinity. Consider this interesting fact: Neither the Trinity nor universal salvation is clearly enunciated in the New Testament. Yet I believe them both.
I could bombard this post with Bible verses to support my positions, but I usually do not do so, since this is an easy way out to avoid real thinking. Quoting the Bible is often the last resort of a person who is on the losing side of an argument, and I will not use the Holy Bible as a "club".
