Because everyone thinks they're right. And you cant really argue. Usually law etc swings towards a majority but often there isn't one. Currently, for example, it is considered moraly wrong to cut someone's legs off for seemingly no reason at all. That's because most people (though not all) feel this way. However suppose only 50% of the world's population believed that pointlessly chopping someone's legs of was a bad thing. While the other 50% thought it was, and should be, common practice. You can't prove morals. There is no way of saying why dismembering someone's limbs is a bad thing. You just inexplainably feel this way. So unfortunately that leaves our two sides with one option: Blow the others' heads off! war war war etc.
It's very odd that one person as an individual can be very intellegent and mature. However large masses of people, intellectuals poletitians etc, opperating together in a group; when you look at this group as one being, it's very child like and almost pathetic. Nations are like that. Bickering over land etc. making spiteful jabs at one another; like kids arguing over who gets the ball. Two heads is better than one maybe but when you have two million heads, all with difering opinions you might as well have no heads at all. That's what TV is.
The golden rule says I should do to people what I want them to do to me.
I don't want my legs cut off for no reason, so I shouldn't want the same for others.
As a matter a fact, in America we do cut off leggs for no reason. they call it abortion.
