To Ainea:
Of course I’ve read your posts, proof positive being that I start my posts quoting some of the more outstanding parts of your posts & then writing my responses to them. I’ve been doing so in all of my posts since day one.
It is obvious you have plenty of time to devote to this Jesus Christ Forums & as a result you are able to produce copious questions to which I, am not able to answer them all in my limited time to participate, especially, when you rapid fire post after post full of questions many times every single day as you do.
Now, if you would care to repeat the questions you claim I haven’t answered, please do so, but don’t exceed two per post & don’t post any additional questions till I have answered the prior ones. As I said, I don’t have as much time to spend in cyberspace as you do.
You say: “...The reason God gives for the destruction of Sodom and her sisters is found in Ez 16:49-50. So everything you posted about Sodom is irrelevant...”
Response: From the NASB, the following quote from Ezequiel 16: 49-50:
“...49 Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy. 50 "Thus they were haughty and committed abominations before Me. Therefore I removed them when I saw it.
In the above list, there is no mention whatsoever of homosexuality not even of temple prostitutes. The word “abomination” is mentioned, however, it didn’t merit a precise definition nor does it figure at the
beginning of the list but rather obscurely at the end.
I will point out the even before the attempted gang rape of the two angels in Lot’s house which seems to be have been the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back, God seems to have had sealed Sodom & Gomorrah’s fate, although, Lot was able to haggle with God from a hundred to one single righteous man being found in all of the city of Sodom to save it from destruction.
Let me, also, point out that if the entire male population of Sodom was homosexual, how did the city maintain its population growth? And, if they were all homosexuals what was the use in Lot offering his two virgin daughters in lieu of his angelic visitors since homosexuals wouldn’t have had any sexual interest in females?
In those times, the tradition of hospitality was very important & the men of Sodom were not hospitable in wanting to gang rape the two visitors. Rape is a sin whether heterosexual or homosexual.
In fact, Jesus himself was referring to hospitality when he mentioned by name the cities of Sodom & Gomorrah in the following New Testament verse:
"And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, SHAKE OF THE DUST of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city." - according to the Gospel of Matthew.
The reason Jesus mentions lack of hospitality & Sodom in the same sentence is because He recognized that the sin of Sodom was NOT homosexuality but inhospitality (gang rape) & predicts that Capernaum will be treated more harshly on Judgement Day than Sodom for its own inhospitality because Capernaum had the privilege of being visited by Christ Himself where He worked miracles & was also visited by his disciples & yet were turned away.
