Why was David called "A man after God's own heart"?
Because he knew one thing...he could not save himself. He sinned just like the rest of us but if you read carefully, he repented for every little thing he did. He never tried to justify it, hide it nor run from it but instead, he gave it to God by repenting and confessing all that he has done that displeases Him.
How many of us sinned and we just brush it aside and say 'I will worry about repenting later"? How many of us think that God would not know or even care if you mess a little thing much less a big thing?
God DOES CARE and He does KNOW ALL THINGS!
God does not want us to envy who David was but He certainly would like for us to have the attitude and passion that David had.
David was a man after God's own heart because he was a sinner and he could not save himself from condemnation.
For His Glory,
Eddie
