As Omega stated the 7 chruches also represent 7 ages. We are living in the Laodecean age or the age of apostasy. The church as we define it today is not mentioned beyond Chapter 3, as God has shifted His attention back to the Jews and the fullfillment of His promises to His people. The Body of Christ, which is the true church anyway is present throughout Revelation in the form of the 144,000 super evangelists who will complete the job the gentile church failed to accomplish.
One reason I doubt a pre-trip Rapture is God promises to see us through, not remove us from tribulations. I personally believe the institutional church will be so far into apostasy it will not be the church per se but more of a social club adhering to principles more like the Uniterian Universalists.
All you have to do is look at what is happening in America today. Mainline denominations are denying the inerrancy of Scripture, ordainging gays, supporting all sort of immorality and heresy in the name of inclusion and this includes factions in the SBC.
Pre-trib rapture people believe the church will be raptured, which will remove the restraining effect of the Holy Spirit. I believe the Holy Spirit will be evicted by apostasy, read World Council of Churches and the ecumenical movement. Of course I am in the minority since I don't see the rapture as debated in the Bible.
