I don't think It is a way of avoiding using the word magick, psychic perhaps. but not magick. Psionics is the general term used to describe all psychic abilities. Originally the term psi was proposed to refer to psychokinesis. I'm not saying psychic ability isn't magick, indeed it is a wonderous and definately magickal thing, however most people tend to spearate magick and psychic abilities, as magick is a more religious based practice, rather than psychic abilities.
I also did not pick up on anything the boyfriend mentioned that implied; in any way what so ever, he was practicing magick. Sure, wiccans and satanists meditate but so do Buddhists and many other relgious groups. Meditation is not an explicit magickal practice.
I agree with the first reply. I think you need to research psionics and anything else you're boyfriend is doing that is worrying you. Make sure to research from sources on both sides as well. If you look solely at Christian sources you are going to get biased information and possibly misconceptions. It is the same with anything.
Don't take this too personally, but, if you truly love your boyfriend for who he is, it should not matter whathe practices, wqhether it is magick or not. so long as he is not hurting other people, (which would be extremely difficult to do with psionics unless you very adept at telekinesis or pyrokinesis). It sounds like he believes in god too, so his beliefs are very similiar to yours, therefore his morals would be as well. and while I may not agree with Christianity (and i definately do not belive in it), i do believe it presents good morals for people to live by.
Just trust in the fact that he is a good person. For while he may not believe everything you do, it does not mean what he is doing is wrong. It simply does not conform with you.
