Respecting the rights of a minority does not equate to any minority controlling the majority in any democratic society. Atheists who use the courts to force their views on all people of faith want to practice a limited form of anarchy.
So we are not to take your signature as a serious stance? Buddhism does not make a person better, what makes a person better is the decisions they make. I know atheists who are better "persons" than people who advocate faith in a religion. Also by definition an atheist is one who rejects the existence of any god and this applies to all the variations of Buddhism.
Again, what should be done in the ivory tower of academics and the reality of what is done in the ivory tower of academics are not the same. I know of students who wrote papers against evolution using only the scientific method who received failing grades based strictly on the bias of their professor.
As to your denial that you do not have faith in evolutionary biology, the fact you use the same tactics as those who do renders your denial self-serving. There is no observed or experimental evidence that any organism can or has evolved from one family to another family.
