The point I was trying to make was that there are some folks whose occupation falls in the category of what I'd call "essential services."
EX: Suppose your house catches on fire on Sunday? Wouldn't it be great if there were some firefighters willing to work on Sundays to help put out the fire?
EX: You have a heart attack on Sunday. Wouldn't it be great if there were some 911 dispatchers willing to work on Sundays to take your call for help? Some emergency workers willing to work on Sundays to respond to your call? Some highly trained ER staff at the hospital to provide medical treatment for you on your arrival?
EX: A violent storm hits your area and knocks out your electricity. You have a spouse that depends on an oxygen pump to breathe, but that pump is powered by electricity. Wouldn't it be great to have some electric utility workers will to work on Sundays to restore power to your home in a timely matter?
EX: An elderly person who has no family nearby is placed in a nursing home and must have certain medications every day. Wouldn't it be great to have some nursing home staff willing to work on Sundays so that this person will have his medications given to him on Sunday?
EX: Our military personnel don't always have the luxury of being able to have Sundays off. Aren't you glad for that?
My point was that if you're going to tell me that any and all people who work on Sundays should be put to death--regardless of what it is that they do--I believe is something you need to re-consider.
I think that you need to use a little smaller brush in your blanket condemnation of any and all people who dare to work on Sunday.
