Aineo writes: I have thought about it and the fact is there is (are and were) Greek word that referred to homosexual activity.
Yes but no Hebrew words to express homosexuals or its nature. And what we call Homosexuals today, Christ called a natural Eunuch.
The difference being of course that those who saw favor in being a natural Eunuch was pleasing decided to mutilate themselves into becoming a different kind of Eunuch. Thus the mutilated ones became more prevelant then those of a natural one. And thus they became outlawed and then we lost in our interpretation of them and both became hated.
Christ does make the distinction between the two. Matthew 19: 10-12
Mat 19:10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with [his] wife, it is not good to marry.
Mat 19:11 But he said unto them, All [men] cannot receive this saying, save [they] to whom it is given.
Mat 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from [their] mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive [it], let him receive [it].
The obvious here is that there is most deffinately a distinction between lacivious behavior and being a naturally born gay person. As we can see Christ alreadys tells us that there are those of whom are born being gay, ie: a Eunuch any act of luedness and lacivity is a sin it is non specific and applies to both hetero and homosexual behavior.
So when one is quoting scripture and then sites there is no scientific proof that people are born gay, one only need to read what Christ himself says that some are born this way. Thus their arguement falls flat.
