leelaFuturama, let me assure you that Christians do not hate Muslims. Because those that do are not Christian. As webmaster neglected to mention in his giant red font, Christians are not supposed to hate the sinner, but the sin. Therefore, they may believe you are on the wrong path because you do not believe that Jesus, but they don't hate you.
The problem is that the world is becoming increasingly dominated by fanatics. Fanatical Muslims who believe killing is God's way, fanatical Jews who believe Israel has the right to expand, and fanatical Chrsitians in America who use religious and economical drive to fuel public hatred of the enemy, while the enemy constantly changes from one vague faction to the next. 1984 anyone? In short, they want world domination. But these are not Muslims, Jews or Christians. These are violent sick individuals who are not following a belief system, but a well cloaked form of insanity. Their religious fervor reaches such pitch that it is no longer bound by religion, because they begin to take actions clearly condemned by their own scriptures. They are the minority. And it is sad that these few people can impose stereotypes onto the entire Mulsim, Jewish and Christian populations.
I consider myself a Christian, if only through tradition, although many here would not. And there are many like myself here in America and abroad. Tha Catholic club at my college for example were heavily opposed to a war in Iraq and supportive of the Muslims there. (The Conservative "Christians" meanwhile resent the Catholics and were gung-ho over the war) I would be lying if I said that people didn't have an underlying resentment of Islam after September 11th. The same as people have and still do often have an underlying resentment of Judaism. But these emotions are caused by the fanatical "Muslims" who flew planes into the WTC and perpetuated by the fanatical "Christians" who control the media, showing us the images over and over again, and filling our minds with threats of ghostly terrorist networks that are everywhere. Real Christians do not hate you. Americans do not hate you. Some are utterly confused. And it's time for that confusion to stop. As Alpha said, a conflict of ideologies is unavoidable and not necessarily bad. But political and social conflict is avoidable.
