Be courteous when you argue with People of the Book except with those among them who do evil. Say: “ We believe in that which is revealed to us and which was revealed to you. Our God and your God is one”. (29:46)
Sorry to say this, but i sense that the christians do not possesses the true Holy Qur'an..coz i've read several forum...and majority of the translation given by the christians are totally different from my refferral. Sorry once again, no offence.
My refferral as such...(I've refer to three of my Holy Qur'an and it stated the same statement...not even a word missing or replace.)
"And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the Revelation has come down to us and in that which came down to you; our God and your God is One; and itis to Him we bow (in Islam)" [Ayat, 29:46]

No offence Aisah, I hope, but I believe you are living in some kind of denial. We are dealing with translations here, and as we know, no translation will be entirely the same word by word, but ussually they are in agreement with meaning. Secondly, Christians possess the same the same translations you possess, and even the Arabic; some of my Christian co-workers, even speak Arabic, and debate Muslims from the Arabic Koran.
However, the translation you posted agrees with mine:
Muslims are not o dispute with the people of the Book
They are to believe the same Scriptures
They are to believe in the same God
