If you want to take that literally and not in its context, then we would know when Christ would return, which ofcourse Christ basically teaches that it is in vain for man to attempt to prophecy the exact date. Christ only gives us general signs to watch out for in His coming. ************************************ So when Jesus said only the Father knew the Son's coming, that was really the Father saying that? Again, Jesus said in John 8 that the Father and Him are two distinct witnesses. When Jesus prayed at the garden of Gethsemane, He prayed to the Father, "not my will, but thy will be done." Now, if some how you want to imply that God was talking to Himself, then we can just end this debate right now, because all you will be doing is speculating, and I'm not ready to interpret things that are too high for me. |
