The point of Roman/Greco Religion is to propitiate deities, spirits and ancestors through precise prayers and rituals. This secures the good will of the greater powers and binds them to family and State. The resulting harmony is called the Pax Deorum, the Peace of the Gods.
Roman/Greco Paganism to sum it up is a contract between the gods and man loving at times and hateful at times, balanced and chaotic all that same time. It has no centeral book or prophet but it looks to re-esbablsih itself in the daily world as a vibrant and true religion of man.
