I don't know, but I think I'd have to disagree with this. Preach the Word and people will come to Christ, regardless of how much the preacher knows about the Scriptures. I'll grant you the fact the they won't be able to handle the tougher matters, but what's more inportant - being a theologian, or being saved from an eternity in hell? As it relates to the hypothetical question posed in the first post - a new Christian should jump in to saved the drowning friend, because he knows enough to get him to dry land (i.e. what he's got to do to get saved). Teaching him how to walk on the dry land is another matter. Discipleship should be left to those who have greater knowledge. |
