Christian/Muslim ThreadsMoon GodThis subject has been debated in many threads on this forum. The accusation being that Muslims worship the Arabian Moon-God Al-Ilah. Secular historians could claim that this Egyptian Iah/Yah was one of the origins of Yahweh. It was in being delivered from Egypt that Moses taught the names "Eyah Asher Eyah" and "Yahweh" to his people. Also it had been claimed that Eyah or Yah can be traced to Ea of the Akkadian Pantheon which the following link refers to and dismisses in the same breath; It's not so easy to dismiss this as idle conjecture when Ea features in the Epic of Gilgamesh as the saviour of mankind from complete annhilation in the Great Flood;
Of course none of this proves that Yahweh was a pagan god who got promoted by the Bible Prophets to a position of being the most powerful amongst gods, and then further promoted to the position of being the only god in existence. It just goes to show how a true god can have lies associated with him throughout human history. There is no need to say that because some ignorants associated the Moon with the supreme Allah or Al-Ilah that Allah or Al-Ilah need to be rejected. Just reject the Moon! Ilah (Arabic), Elah (Aramaic), Ilu (Syriac), El (Hebrew) are all the same word entymologically anyway! Same God, just different ideas about him. . |
